What do you do in your creative field?

I write poetry which I submit to international journals. This is all part of building up a collection of poems. I have published nine books of poetry.

What year did you start creating?

When I was nine I wrote a poem about Red Hole which was published in The Royal Gazette. I was both proud and critical of it at the time.

What influences your work? What makes it unique?

Image metaphor is at the core of my work. I also have a visual arts background and am a visual thinker which works well when writing about Bermuda.

Derek Walcott, Sharon Olds and the Martian Poets are influences. I use this bio. for submissions: Nancy Anne Miller is a Bermudian poet with nine collections. Latitude, Longitude is her latest. (Kelsay Books 2021). She is published internationally in journals such as Edinburgh Review, Poetry Ireland Review, Salzburg Review, Agenda, The Fiddlehead, The Caribbean Writer. She has an M.Litt. in Creative Writing from Univ. of Glasgow, is a MacDowell Fellow, and Bermuda Arts Council Grant recipient.
